Override a systemd Unit (Drop-in)

Override part of a packaged unit with a drop-in file, without editing the original.

Creates a drop-in override file to modify a system-provided unit without editing the original. Changes survive package updates because the override is in /etc/systemd/system/ not /lib/.

When you need this: When you need to change environment variables, resource limits, or restart policy for a packaged service.
