Verify a Second Login Before Closing the First

Opens a fresh connection from another terminal to prove your access still works after changing SSH settings.

A reloaded sshd does not drop existing sessions, so the terminal you are in keeps working even when the new config is broken. The only honest test is a brand new connection.

When you need this: Between every SSH hardening step. This habit is what separates a locked-down server from a locked-out one.
