Set Your Git Name and Email

Stamps every commit you make on this machine with who you are.

The email is what links a commit to your GitHub account, so use the one your account knows. Inside a single repository, drop --global to override it for that project only.

When you need this: Once per machine, before your first commit. Git refuses to commit until it knows both values.
